Directions to Carfury S: I followed a short route c. 0.2 mile from a tight passing place on the minor road from Carfury to Boskednan taking in Carfury Hedge Stone and Carfury N & S Stones on rough ground.
There is room to park carefully in a passing place at SW 4426 3408 between Carfury and Boskednan. Walk WNW into the field on the left for c. 50 yards then head SW across a shallow stream. Continue SW for c. 50 yards to a gap in a hedge. Follow a rough path SW for c. 150 yards to reach a possible standing stone built into a hedge on your left. The terrain becomes difficult from here. Head W from the hedge stone to a small gap in the bank. Crawl through the gap then continue WNW through pathless vegetation for c. 50 yards to cross a low grassy wall. Head SW for c. 25 yards on the NW side of the wall to find a 12 foot recumbent stone, Carfury N Stone lying parallel to the wall. Continue SW on the NW side of the wall for c. 40 yards to reach Carfury S Standing Stone. My route can be viewed on Carfury Standing Stones.
