The Rocking Stone’s name is Y Garreg Siglo and was the focal point for Iolo Morganwg’s Gorsedd in 1795. He built the inner circle of stones. Myfyr Morganwg extended the complex in 1849.
Pairs of parallel small stones extend as an avenue in either direction from the circle for 30m to N-W and S-E, in the form of a serpent. Thus you have a serpent swallowing an egg!
The serpent’s head has two carved eyes, the carvings on the right eye form concentric circles, the left are the first ten letters of the Bardic alphabet known as Coelbren y Beirdd.
I visited this site in summer last year and found it quite pleasant surroundings which were very well kept. The obvious Rocking Stones were very substantial and gave good vibes when my hands were placed on them.
In spite of all that is said my visit was very enjoyable and the small circle approx 200 yards away was very peaceful
Opposite to one side there are several very big stones similar to the size of the Rocking Stones but not so obvious as set into the grounds, trees and shrubs etc
I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of these ? it might also help if an aerial view was made to see the layout regarding these ?
