Again great drone footage, which really shows the raised platform on which the monument is constructed. We have visited the Water Monster in all weathers, and once or twice it's been almost totally flooded around it.
The lack of literally anything to suggest burials or graves or cremation internments have made us think the site (and the other possibles nearby) are open to equally valid interpretations. Similar to how the dolmens as 'burial chambers' is now being re-evaluated, especially by Cummings et al, could it be that Bedd yr Afanc was primarily ritually purposed? The views across the base of the hills and right up to the bwlch are epic and probably would not have been obscured by trees even then. A trek across a flooded plain to a semi-secret location, to a then wooden or earth covered chamber, and a crawl into a dark passageway to lie quietly alone? Or water based magic on a moonlit night?
