This is a most interesting site (and environment) and always a good reason to revisit. The question as to whether the stones ever stood will always fascinate, just one view of what it may have looked like if they had stone-circles.org.uk/stone/arborlow.htm

Always well worth a visit, it always seems like I've been there more times than I have. The standing/not standing thing is definitely fascinating. I can't really imagine it any different than how we know it, although it seems more likely that they did stand.
