Well I really do not know this part of the world well enough, love this site, looks like someone has just slid the lid back to see what's inside. you had great weather again for your hike over the hills
I've slowly explored Bodmin Moor over the last seven years, there's a lot in a fairly compact area. Very difficult to access by public transport, it was a revelation last summer that a bus service right across the Moor (between Bodmin and Launceston) was running via Jamaica Inn, which made this walk possible. Saw no-one else the whole day. Sadly the service has already been cancelled due to lack of passengers (same story as the bus that got me up Pumlumon a month earlier) so just as well I went when I did. With a car these sites are much more accessible but still a bit of a walk over potentially quite boggy ground in places.
If you're looking for a good introduction book-wise, I highly recommend Carolyn Kennett's "Sites of prehistoric Bodmin Moor" which was published last year (Carolyn has posted some Isle of Scilly stuff on TMA).
