An investigation has begun into a west Cork farmer who reinstated a fallen Bronze Age standing stone on his land with the help of two druids.
The stone had been knocked over more than a decade ago by a bull who was using it as a scratching post.
The National Monuments Service confirmed it had begun an investigation into the actions of Donal Bohane on land rented from his cousin at Coolnagarrane, Skibbereen.
I love this. What a brilliant thing to do. A daicent fella! Phoned up a couple of local druid-types, checked the leys, summoned the subtle energies and put the fucker back where it belonged. The National Monuments Service wouldn't (and hadn't) given the mere passing notion of re-erecting the stone... let alone according it that kind of thorough cosmic once over. Good on him!
I hope the run of bad luck and poor harvests is immediately turned around and the previously unbalanced Scales of Fate are once more offset into this great man's favour and the land can once more feel the benevolence of the Old Gods.
Totally agree HD. Leave the old geezer and his stone alone (though the use of the bulldozer is a bit nerve-wracking).
