Beinn-y-Phott is right of centre, with the southern hills of the Isle of Man fading into the blue beyond. In the distance to the right you can see South Barrule (hillfort) and Cronk ny Arrey Laa (cairn). Seen from the upper slopes of Snaefell, with copious quartz outcrops.

The walk up Snaefell is nice. Looks like you had a lovely day for it.
It was, we walked up from the harbour at Old Laxey via a stop off at King Orry's Grave, then via Agneath and the old mines. Nice and sunny but too hazy for views beyond Man. We spoiled ourselves with coffee and cake at the station and got the train down.
Sounds great. My sort of day out, especially the cake bit.
We didn't see anyone at all on the walk up past the mines until we got to the road at The Bungalow. I guess most people start there and it looks like a good starting point for exploring the wider area of hills. The cake was very good!
We started from The Bungalow. It was back in the day when I used to drive, I rushed things too much then. Cramming lots into a day. It's not the best way to do things. Got a bit ticky. Nowadays it's slow down and do one or two things instead of as many as I can. If I get another chance I'd like to start from Laxey. The idea of bottom to top of an island does appeal. I'm really enjoying your Isle of Man trip photos by the way. Everyone should try to visit here at least once. Top place for a holiday.
We did the same on Arran, from Corrie harbour to the top of Goatfell, although that was a bit more strenuous than Snaefell!
Thank you for the compliment, it's a great place isn't it? We'll definitely be back there as there are a lot of sites we didn't get to and G/F is quite keen on doing the coast path.
