I nearly didn't recognise this after its trim. I liked this one a lot.
Yeah, it was good, although Mains of Daviot was the jewel of the day for me. Couldn't believe it was 17 years since I came to the Balnuaran of Clava... magnificent, but overrun with tourists, so I just passed through. Vibe here was much, much better.
Still not been to Daviot, one for next time we get up that way. I really like the Nairn valley sites. I have toyed with walking the Nairn from source to sea but probably never will. We've been quite lucky at Balnuaran and always had it to ourselves for at least a little while. But the other sites along the valley are well worth the effort. I was chuffed to find out about this one, might have been in the Audrey Hensall book.
