Aghadrumgowna or Calf Field (Wedge Tomb) by ryaner Looking east over the roofstones. I think the two main ones here were once one, now split.

These are lovely shots. Definitely one for a winter visit, serious capstones too. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat

Exceedingly difficult to photograph and give a sense of in any decent visual way. At times it's hard for me to understand why the landowners on whose land these monuments reside have no idea of their value, spiritual, historical of whatever, and just let them get overgrown, neglect them into almost non-existence. Most of the Irish megalithic tombs have been surveyed, this one circa 1972, and plans made and photographs taken, and then left to their own devices. I just find it very strange that you could have a 3 or 4,000 year old tomb on your land and not give two hoots. Apologies for the rant and thanks for your comment. ryaner Posted by ryaner

Rant is good. I entirely agree, it's unfathomable why you would let something like this get so neglected. thesweetcheat Posted by thesweetcheat
