The northern end of the dyke, north of Wansdyke. The view is towards Allington Down. There is a rectangular medieval stock enclosure in the valley, directly above that on the slopes of Allington Down you can just make out the bushes on the Allington Down round barrow. Immediately to the right of that but not really visible in these conditions is Silbury.

That is some walk TSC - would love to know how you got out there and the route of your walk. Rybury (in your other photo) is not so easy to get to.
Avebury- West Kennett Avenue- Waden- Silbury "viewpoint"- Swallowhead Springs- West Kennett long barrow- Allington Down ridge all the way up to Wansdyke- along Wansdyke to the top of Harestone Down- White Horse Trail to Harestone Down circle- East Kennett long barrow- back on the WHT to East Kennett, then field path along the fallen WKA stones, WKA back to the bus stop. Haven't worked out the distance but the ascent was very gradual.
PS still haven't been to Rybury yet but have it on the list :)
Very impressive, how far do you think. I'm guessing about 15 miles.
I've just measured, a little over 11 miles.
