Amazing site, over 100 hut circles in the valley. Took me well over an hour to walk from north to south, so much to see. And I kept having to remind myself that I still needed to get to Merrivale before dark :)
Might sound a bit daft but hut circles / settlements might just be my favourite of all prehistoric stones and stuff. I just love the normalness, for want of a better word, of them. Like I said, what a great site, one day hopefully I'll visit.
100 hut circles, makes my wonder if they had different jobs (if jobs is the right word for back then)? Surely the folk from each hut circle didn't do the same thing?
What a great place TSC. This I would love to visit, my sort of place. Liking your weather too. You're making me want to book a holiday southwards :-)

It's always great to see where the people who built the monuments lived. This must have been a populous place in the Bronze Age.

There must have been some differences, I imagine. Also interesting to know how many different family groups.
I'm thinking privacy could be an issue. With this many hut circles, you'd have to walk a good way if you needed the lavvy!
There are two separate groups of 20-30 each, the rest of the 100 are actually in the Merrivale Bridge settlement just over 1km to the south.
Some place SC, brilliant stuff and nice weather, excl :-)
Pretty good for January huh?
