The impressive multiple ramparts can be seen to their best advantage from the northwest, masking the missing centre concealed within.
See you have been to my favourite places, they say Iron Age forts every half mile along this part of the coast. It is a bit scary round that missing centre, the cliff dropping away, especially on a windy day.
It's great isn't it? Luckily we had a nice still day for our visit. Also, we came from the east, so there's more warning of the hole than if I'd cheerfully gone up the ramparts from the northwest :)
