Ach, I've never really been that far away. Unfortunately work has meant a dearth of stone trips so I've had nothing to contribute. However this particular monument is outstanding on so many levels that it inspired a comment from me.....
Thank you both; this is indeed a special site, and if I can get to it with snow on the ground I may try a return trip; it deserves a more intersting light than a dull September midday.
