Last time I came past here I noted a new housing project getting underway, so I decided to take a closer look next time I was passing. The long barrow was on the edge of town in what was the countryside. Not anymore.

Oh, that's disappointingly poor. This looks like a lovely site, soon to look much less lovely.

How close is that to the barrow - it looks practically at the end of it?
I didn't get close enough to make an exact determination, next time. Looking through other photos it looks to be less than fifty yards .
That's a terrible shame.
