Looking north to the high Black Mountains peaks of Pen y Gadair Fawr (far left) and Chwarel y Fan (centre-right). Some of the stones in the cairn have been painted red or blue, for reasons best known to the kind of people who carry cans of paint up mountains.

Ah, excellent. Never been to this section of the summit ridge..... obviously looks worth it. Incidentally the coloured stones are a bit of a Black Mountains tradition. No idea what it signifies, though.
First time for me too, not a bad cairn either.
In defiance of any common sense, I kept going along the ridge - it's so inviting to keep going, despite the fact that walk back to the bus becomes very very long.
