Ancient poo gives clues to human impact on environmentUS scientists say they can track early human movements by analysing molecules in ancient faecal matter. Researchers were able to use prehistoric poo to establish the presence and size of a population dating back over 7,000 years. The bit about having a strong signal made me smile - good article though. "Now researchers at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst say they have discovered a much more accurate marker that produces a "strong human signal."" |
