It would appear to me from the chosen site that the soaring, elegant Crib Goch (part of the Snowdon Massif, top right) was/is primary focus for this stone circle.... and not the brutal, more or less featureless southern bulk of Y Glyderau. Interestingly, however, the intriguing natural rock formation – proto temple? – Castell-y-Gwynt does crown the skyline behind the viewer. The stone circle lies approx one third of the way(ish) along the near shore of Llyn Cwmfynnon.

Me too, except for my knackered leg. I really hoped for a Tryfan/Dyffryn Mymbyr combo, but that's out (for me, anyway).
We'll think of somewhere else then, where have you always wanted to go ? how much can your leg put up with ?
Not too much up, less down. Steepness is the problem rather than distance. The circle would be fine, Tryfan definitely wouldn't be. Yesterday we walked a long way on the complete flat (altitude varied between 7m OD and 13m OD, the flattest walk I've done for a very long time, if not ever).
Where have I always wanted to go? It's a long drive from Crewe to Callanish in a day isn't it? :-)
It is a long way to Callanish, but I reckon I could get there in a day.
How about Drosgl, Moel Hebog, more Anglesey, Pumlumon, around Tal y Fan, the stone river Preselli, anywhere you want, with in reason.
Drosgl (and probably Moel Hebog and maybe Pumlumon) is off the menu, if my leg's going to get better I've got to take the doctor seriously, much as it is difficult to do. Hills not mountains I guess - Anglesey's nice and flat. Actually, there's still 20 billion places though aren't there? Mr Burl suggests we could go to plenty of Lakes and Yorkshire circles, then there's Kerry, Banc Du, Llech Croen-yr-Ych and Six Stones (Radnor) in Mid-Wales. Not to mention loads of chambered tombs everywhere. Let me know when you're free!
