Whatever the failings of this messed-up cairn, it remains impressively substantial. My friend provides helpful scale to demonstrate.

Guess that's the only angle that actually makes any sense of this poor site... clearly a good 'un, once. Needless to say these stones were not placed here by tourist walkers!
I must admit I liked it a lot, despite the trashed-ness. Even this close to the road it manages to feel remote and the size means it's still pretty awe-inspiring. For some reason the massive reconfiguration reminded me of Ballowall!
Almost like Cairn O Mount minus the reshaping.
