Carmont Hill

My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw this. Further to the post upland landscape alteration in south east Ireland. There are two rock types in the Comeraghs, one is a conglomerate containing river washed quartz cobbles. These can range in colour from white to dark mauve. As this conglomerate breaks down, these cobbles have been released, and can be found at the centre of hundreds of small stone patches. Time has covered many with grey lichen, and they can be difficult to spot, but they have in my opinion been deliberately placed. This is absolutely identical. They are too numerous to be coincidental, and I have racked my brains for years trying to work out what it represents. Wonderful stuff! Have you noticed any more?
