Looking approx south (ish) from Side Pike I thought the indicated feature looked ‘hillforty’ in nature. I’m pretty sure this is Castle Howe, but if not please let me know.

Hi Gladders,
You did ask someone to let you know, so I will. You are on Side Pike, coming off Lingmoor Fell. The tarn is Blea Tarn, between Great and Little Langdale. Wetherlam is the mountian in the background, above Little Langdale, and you are looking just west of south.
I've just realized where this is. It's in Little Langdale, at the foot of Wrynose Pass. Grid ref. SD297033. It doesn't look like a hillfort, but it does look like a place that you could defend. Mind you, it's titchy. Everyone who passes it will not notice any traces of prehistory. Mind you, just next to it is the Viking Ting Mound.
Cheers,
TE.
