Like the angle on this.... shows what immense defences it had/has. Anyone know if the medieval dudes made significant improvements to the Iron Age ramparts, or pretty much just utilised what was there?
I was wondering that this afternoon. It really is immense in scale.
It's an incredible place, isn't it? Can't answer the question though! :D We used to go to the old cathedral ruins in my youth after the pub (no shennanigans - just somewhere to chill!) It was always pitch dark when we were there so I had no idea what was the other side of that ditch - Imagine my surprise on my first ever daytime visit! Jeez, I drank a lot in them days to have not noticed THAT!!! :D
