The Clifton Antiquarian Club surveyed the stones in 2006 and found 13 cupmarks on one of the supporting uprights. The SSPA link is a pdf of the CAC article, and includes a plan of the cupmarks.

This article from the 1888 Proceedings has a detailed plan of the stones, and marks where there are “two holes in the upright stones on either side of the chamber, which are very remarkable.”

Not far from the ring cairn on the same hill. There are two cairns sitting not far apart.
This place must have been a pretty special place. What a shame this site doesn’t describe the views.

More accurate info from an excellent site.
This stone has apparently nothing to do with cuckoos. Instead it remembers a fallen and forgotten general.
All about dowsing for patterns of the past which apparently suggests that some single stones were once part of larger monuments. Some interesting comments on Monkshill and others in the North East.
Plenty info on the two legends that engulf Barra Hill. One I,d heard, Jock O Bennachie, and one I hadn’t, the William Wallace connection. Robert the Bruce had plenty to do in this area also.
