The sole standing survivor of Falkners Circle near Avebury, Wiltshire. The circle is named after a Mr.Falkner who was an antiquary from Devizes who first identified it in 1840.
Looking towards High Tor. I told my kids that the stones were supposed to dance at midday. They insisted that we put some Rolling Stones on to encourage them.
Cup mark rock carvings
Map of the circle, on permanent display on the Harris Museum
The newly re-opened Harris Museum in Preston has a fabulous display about Bleasdale, featuring the 2 urns and original maps from the excavations. Definitely worth a visit.
