Long zoom on long barrow. Apologies for the poor quality but as this long barrow is firmly within the Imber Firing Range perimeter, I think this may be one of the best available viewpoints to see it without permission from the MOD.
Middleton Down, centre skyline, seen from the ridge between Battlesbury hillfort and Middle Hill. The long barrow is a prominent feature on the skyline, centre.
The excellent Battlesbury from Middle Hill to the ESE. Over on the left skyline the prominent hills are Cley Hill (hillfort) and Cop Heap (round barrow).
Very impressive defences on the northeastern flank.
The northeastern entrance, looking towards the Imber Range; lots of inaccessible archaeology over there.
Southeastern rampart, looking over the Wylye Valley.
Looking over the southeastern ramparts towards Middle Hill (with trees on a large round barrow on the summit) and Scratchbury hillfort.
Looking northwest along the southwestern ramparts.
The western ramparts, looking down on Warminster.
Slightly inturned banks flanking the NW entrance. The prominent hill on the centre skyline is Cop Heap, crowned by a large round barrow.
The stone seen from the B840.. it only seems to be visible when travelling in the Loch Awe direction
