I always wondered about Bamburgh, now I know. Brings back memories of visits with my dad to the area visiting most of the border castles and towns. (He loved Berwick and Lindisfarne) Nice to see the sun :-)
We had a great week staying in Berwick back in April, walked the coast from Burnmouth to Seahouses. Bamburgh is very impressive, although sadly there's no mention of its Iron Age occupation at the castle itself. I enjoyed the walk around the coast of Holy Island very much, once we got away from the crowds.

Was back up St Abbs way a week or so back, pix to follow...what a stretch of coast either side of Berwick, eh?
It is indeed. Huge skies, enormous beaches, stunning.
And those new sites not on here or over the way :)
