I started to look at the video but didn't get far, sorry. One thing, I think airliners aren't "designed" to go faster at high altitude, they have to because less air = less thrust = slower = higher angle needed = danger of stalling. So they put their foot down if you see what I mean. (Not that I've flown one!)

BTW, another eye witness account from the old days: I bet my brother ten shillings the US would get to the moon before the Russians! (Wish I still had the betting agreement, signed by us both!)
