How does acknowledging cause and effect make anyone an "apologist" or a "sympathizer"?
It's not hard to join the dots between US/UK foreign policy in the Middle East and Islamic terrorist groups that sprang up in its wake. This is simple cause and effect. If we don't look at the causes how can we hope to stop this happening? Burying your head in the sand and ignoring the part the US and UK have played in this isn't going to stop it happening.
Calling anyone seeking to find the reasons why this is happening an "apologist" is like saying that someone explaining how the outcome of the First World War led to WW2 is an apologist for Hitler.
