if every worker at McDonalds made 15.00 an hour a big mac would likely cost 10.00

Yeah I'm aware of the paradox. Of course we all wish we had more money, nobody has a solution for the inflation that happens when wages increase, BUT at least there's cheaper gas, and that has helped quite a bit...

Pay everybody nothing, and make everything free :)

I remember reading that line about $10 dollar big macs a few times before, and it's predicated on the notion that, rather than accept slightly fewer profits (but still A LOT OF PROFITS, mind) by letting their employees lead better lives, McD would have to just raise the burger prices. Mega-Capitalism's reached a kind of nasty plateau because each big-shot corporation insists on besting the previous year's profits, rather than resting on their laurels a bit, or raising the wage of their bottom-rung employees. Unfortunately, taking from a handful of already rich people and giving back to the vast mass of people is against the essence of Free Trade.

It varies from career to career and state to state, but in general America's minimum wage is pretty laughable. Glad to see a flash of the spirit of the union days. Even if it is for an industry which revolves around turning animals into pinky pulp stuff.
