I must admit that advert doesn't bother me at all.
Edit: I say that as a veggie btw (though not a vegan)
How fascinating. The differences in our perceptions I mean.
My take on it is that it anthropomorphises 'Mary', making 'her dream come true' in that aaaaah way which perpetuates the distancing from reality of the true nature of the cow, in this case.
The cow would have been loaded into a vehicle, released onto a beach and loaded back in and money would have been handed over. Why? Okay, in the scheme of things and with all the horrors of this world most would be perfectly justified in thinking so what. The physical doing-of the advert would have caused the cow some distress in my opinion, but it's the cynical twisting of peoples' perception of animals which utterly sickens me.
I really think there is a true realisation process that we as humans go through or not with regard to truly empathising and connecting with animals and this advert hinders that realisation, in my opinion.
Interesting. All the best, Vivid.
