Absolutely. My listening and reading would be badly limited if there was a "no assholes" rule. I don't know about the idea of remit to be outrageous as that seems to be giving idiots carte blanche for political Jedwardism but I do think that artists have to be given latitude to be truthful. And I am not sure sure how truthful Nuge is being here. That might be my biggest problem with his Tea Party crap - that it is just a commercial calculation and sucking up to the gallery. Having heard him talking to Dave Lee Roth on the later's chat show a few years back I fear as much. As he really tuned down the bigotry and cranked up the ecological.

I love his s/t album and Free For All. The rest not so much.

A bit of both I suspect, Ted has always been right of centre and down with the hunting shooting fishing crowd but he is an entertainer, he gives his audience what they want.
I suspect that would be his defence if you sat him down and quizzed him about it, along with the usual bullshit about how he knows plenty of black folk etc.
What this really shows is that at heart we still have a long way to concerning race,creed, colour,sexuality etc

The mob mentality is probably at play here too, he says something dumb, the crowd cheer, he carries on everyone whoops n hollers even if 40% don't know what they whooping for and the other 40% just wanna holler and drink and fall down, 10 % think Teds the man and hopefully 10% think he's a dick and don't come back. With luck in 10-20 years time the % who don't come back will be 20%.

We are talking Ted Nugent fans here as well, with all due respect and as one myself we are not talking the cream of the crop here, we are in the realms of low brow and knuckle dragging with the possibility of added D&D.
