Well, I see they've taken Burnley. No surprises there.

well, they've taken one seat, in the 'poshest' part of Burnley. It's far and away the whitest area, and includes a lot of villages (like Padiham) which aer fairly well to do. The ward includes the first seat they won in the town council election, which was itself a jolly nice former tory voting area.

They would probably hacve won it last time but I dont think they stood there cos they were concentrating on the euro's.

So it's a bummer, but not a massive step forward for them.

They got one seat out of six. The Lib Dems got the other five. If that swing from Labour to the Libs and Greens is replicated in tomorrow's results then that will be interesting.
