Hopefully a little bowl will take the edge off loosing one's job, house, retirement and the grimness of the depression in general.
How's things in Hollywood? I can't imagine that the entertainment industry is going to tank. During the great depression Tinseltown kept on rolling.

It seems to be slowing down, people are very nervous, but it's hardly grinding to a halt. Still lots of, uh, hip-looking people out on the street, in and out of stores, doing their thing as fashionably as they know how on a sunny Saturday afternoon

I can say that voice-audition-wise (Lady Z's career of choice) the ad copy has trickled to crud like Pepsi and Wal-Mart (plus the occasional video game) and all the smaller companies just seem to be re-running ads they made a few years ago instead of coming up with new stuff

Morally or ethically I couldn't care less - the industry is corrupt and it bugs me to live here in the first place, but it's what Z wants to do so I'm all for it - but it is interesting to watch the fluctuations and to see how people with plenty of cash to last them the rest of their lives panic at nothing
