My apologies, Shanshee. Yet sometimes a choice has to be made. We may find ourselves facing such choices soon. Or our children might.

So how do we limit population?

In some societies they use infanticide. In others they send young men into the trenches. I'd prefer it if we just stopped producing so many of the little buggers in the first place.

I don't disagree with you there.
But my reason aren't just about protecting limited resources, it's also about limiting suffering.
We hate to face up to this in our own society, but so many children have crap chances in this life because they have parents who are *shitheads* basically.
We see it every day, little tikes bawled at for daring to be so small and weak.
Bullying bastards half the time.
Another story.
And I would rather the parents of these children were bumped off than the kids any day, coz they are the ones cluttering the place up.
