I haven't got a web reference, as I only read this in the Metro over someones shoulder this morning.

Despite claiming that they would not be adding animal rennet to Mars bars in May last year, Mars has NOT removed rennet from Twix, Milky Way and Celebrations, and it has no plans to do so.

After all the fuss last year, they were forced to back down from including rennet in Mars Bars, Snickers, Maltesers and Galaxy bars. I don't know about you, but when I heard that last year I wrongly assumed that it meant that they wouldn't be using animal rennet any more in ANY of their products.

Apparently the Vegetarian Society are trying to persude Mars' parent company Masterfoods to make all their bars suitable for vegetarians.

Personally I will be boycotting their products until they sort this out, the scheming so-and-sos. I think their climb down last year was deliberately misleading. I particularly feel for children of vegetarian families, as it is already hard enough for them to determine what sweets they can and can't eat, and this just clouds the issue still further.
