Must have been an odd bunch. They have had recycling in LA well before I ever heard of it in Britain. All houses, including the posh ones, have three coloured bins, black for rubbish, blue for all recycling and a green one for the garden stuff. Its pretty ingrained in everyones lifestyle here.
