Despite rocketing gas prices, you can still see plenty of ads for Hummers and gigantic pickup trucks here, but it looks like maybe, just maybe, MAYBE they're getting the message....

Consumers are by and large smarter than Detroit.

NOW! If only we could legally drive stuff like this in the US!

Lady Calamity had to visit the US recently, and when out dining with her monosylabic clients (a big, Big entertainment organisation) tried to make small talk by mentioning our recycling efforts. Apparently they just looked at her as if she were insane and babbling on about something in a foreign language. They simply didn't comprehend why anyone would want to do something like that.

Its probably the younger drivers who go for the smaller cars. Sadly the majority of the older ones wouldn't be seen dead in something less than a guzzler even if they never use it for the kids.
