Yeah, there's parallels with the Vietnam war, all right!

Namely, the cynical exploitation of fear and patriotism by the military-industrial complex, the casual disregard for human life in the service of corporate profits, continuation of failed strategies in the service of partisan politics, the destruction of a nation and it's people under the lie that they are being 'rescued' for their own good.... and a stubborn insistence that things are going to get better any day now... yep... just keep the faith, stay the course, ignore the bad news, it's all going to work out... don't worry, it's all worth it, it's the right thing to do... 'freedom isn't free'... you are either with us or against us...

etc.

It's almost laughable.

WHO CREATED THIS MESS, GEORGE?

I'm very surprised he dares to mention Vietnam at all.

Jesus we saw this speech of his. His 'logic utterly turns in on itself'. One of his most dispicalbe moments yet.
I feel it for you Dave, and for all decent American peeps. Dunno where the hell we're going now Brown's in, he's very canny about it all, but we hope the hell outta there.

You've said it all there HoD. And of course there's all the issues in the world that equally require attention, but our leaders are too busy scaring us about bogeymen, the environment, immigration et al. We've had dozens of schools shut in our district. How many Cruise missiles have they got out of that? Two or three?

As the next dude says, how the hell Bush has the bolleaux to mention Vietnam is beyond my comprehension. I would have thought he would've been very twitchy about bringing that up.
