For the past year and a half I've been working on a documentary called Taking Liberties which charts the assault by New Labour on all of our basic freedoms - Freedom of Speech, Privacy, Presumption of Innocence and the Ban on Torture. It's made for cinema release and is deliberately coming out to coincide with Blair's departure. We've made it with one of the producers of Bowling for Columbine so it's very tongue in cheek but still very British. We avoid the temptation to spend 90 minutes just Blair bashing, and instead follow the stories of normal people who have suffered injustice thanks to the War Against Terror.
Trailer is up on http://www.noliberties.com/trailer.htm
And cinema listings are on http://www.noliberties.com/cinema.htm - there are more being added all the time.
It's really important that as many people go to see it on the opening weekend as possible, as then the men in grey suits who control distribution will push it out to a lot more screens. I'm more surprised than anyone that the film has actually turned out really well - The Mirror has just given us 4 stars and there is a great review on: http://www.shadowsonthewall.co.uk/index.html
I'm not exaggerating when I say that making this film is the most important thing I've ever done with my life (some might say the only important thing I've done in my life) and I urge you to come to see it this weekend
