I've had lots of these e-mails where the header is just a load of random keys, and did open one once and hence it was an ad for penis pills or something. Never opened another one, as I got freaked. I actually deleted two today.
Now, if only we could find a way to deal with cold calls and actual junk mail. I know there are meant to be measures we can take, but the whole damn thing is still legitimised.

We have something called the 'no call list' here that one can sign up for. I used to get cold calls EVERY DAY from rug cleaners, credit card companies, etc. until I signed up.
I still get some that are allowed, charitable and polling calls, but the volume of unwanted calls is waaayyyy down.

However, there was somethng on the news today about the mail prefernce thing today - saying that 'important government advice and awarenss thing will not get through toJoe Public if they sign up....more like the Post Office will lose shed loads of money from the companies who's shite door shutters, house blinds and electric gates adverts won't be getting shoved through our letterboxes. Infact, there was a story about a postie who was sacked for telling all his customers how to sign up for mail preferencing.
