I wonder if their TV fare is as banal as our TV fare?

Wouldn't that be ironic if we found other intelligent life in the universe... and they also had infomercials for kitchen gadgets or their own versions of the Jerry Springer show?

Perhaps they've already discovered ours.. and decided not to make our acquaintance....?
Perhaps they fear being roped in to some cheesy 'reality' show.

Oh yeah there HAS to be other life out there; billions of stars in the universe, all potentially with their own solar system etc etc etc - I'd be more surprised and freaked out if we really WERE the only life forms in the universe! If other life forms have found us though I reckon you're right - they've seen our telly and thought 'No, let's swerve that' and are consequently keeping their distance!

What surprises me is that after all the years of space exploration, sending up telescopes, probes with messages on them and boincing out radio waves, it's only now that someone's come up with the bright idea to see if anyone else is doing it!!

Also, why only look for earth type signals? What makes anyone think that signals being sent out are Earth type anyway??

Sorry in a grumpy mood today!!

"Perhaps they've already discovered ours"

Yes, I think they have, and watching the human race is their "Big Brother".
I can imigine them laughing their antennas off!
