The Golden Gonk "Weather Bomb + Resin Tiger" (Corn on the Cob Music - COB004)
Woah- here's a chance to get your hands on some prime archival Gonk music! These two hulking improv monstrosities were recorded and mixed in 2014 and 2015 respectively and before now have only ever been released in severely chopped down form on assorted micro-edition samplers and compilations. Well, as of today all that changes! Yep- presented here are the full-length, warts 'n' all, 20+ minute mega-versions, dug out from the vaults and dusted off for your listening (dis)pleasure! Oh, and like that's not enough, the physical CD-R contains a 15-minute bonus piece from 2021, which was initially recorded for a compilation that never came out and has barely been heard since!
The Golden Gonk "Yuletide Noise + Grotto of the Gonk" (Self-Release)
Well, talk about a super-exciting, outta-nowhere merch drop! Yes, for a limited time only, here's your chance to own this near-mythical Golden Gonk Xmas extravaganza! Self-released in 2019 on both cassette and CD-R formats, this is a Christmas album like no other, offering up possibly the least amount of festive fun and cheer this side of "Silent Night, Deadly Night", with dark and experimental odes to overcooked sprouts, run-down Blackpool boarding houses and the "anti-Santa", Krampus...grim stuff, but it beats hearing bleedin' Mariah Carey and Slade for the millionth time, anyway! So, here's the deal- whilst rummaging about in my archives recently, I uncovered the LAST EVER copies of the CD-R version, which I've decided to put up for sale on Bandcamp FOR THIS FESTIVE SEASON ONLY! Indeed, once Christmas 2024 is over, the BC page will be deleted, no matter how many copies are left, so if you want one, you know what to do!
In addition to that, I still have a few copies of the Chingle Hall and Skulls That Have Sex / Shadow:Space releases from October, a bunch of leftover 4-artist split cassettes from the glory days of Shack in the Barley Productions and much more, including the still (relatively) fresh 3rd Dodo Resurrection II album "Secret Rites of Self-Purification", which is currently on sale at its nicest ever price!
