I go through these musical obsessions, usually lasts about 3 months before I'm onto the next thing. Kemper Norton, Keith Seatman and a lot of that kinda Ghost Box stuff was an obsession a few years ago that got out of hand and had me scouring all sorts of dark and daft places on the web.

My Obsession started off with Drew Mullholland project Mount Vernons Arts Lab/ Mount Vernons Astral Temple after seeing him on the same bill as Coil and some other bands at an all dayer at The Horse Hospital in London. It was one of those 3rd Stone magazine 'festies' called Megalithomania. MVAT did a great set based on psychogeographic significance of disused military installations....not something that has troubled GaGa or Beyonce in recent year. Was quit a spooky affair, and I was hooked from there on in. Still got a fabbo MVAT red T-shirt somewhere with a great 'sigil' on the cover, and the cold war slogan 'Disinform, Disobey, Disappear' on the back.

Demdike Stare, EMMpleKz, Hacker Farm and 'Mordant Music' cover similar ground, albeit there 'music' is more traditionally beat driven (Though Demdikes earlier stuff is deffo more drone/atmospheric in structure). Most have a tasty sideline in that 'otherness' that unsettling Cab Voltaireyness if you will incorporated into their sounds. Few to check out, hope there's something you like.
