Not much to add to what's already mentioned although the pop LPs - Tenement Year & Cloudland also feature Chris Cutler. (Henry Cow etc).

Saw them recently whilst on holiday in Berlin. Didn't recognise anyone other than Thomas who was in usual cantankerous form and necked an entire bottle of red wine during the set. Great though!

Henry Cow. Another band I've heard of but not actually heard. Sort of free prog fusion ?

Patto are another one I've yet to check out as well.

Chris Cutler also runs Recommended Records and was a big supporter of the Rock in Opposition movement. Another group connected with both Pere Ubu and Henry Cow is the Red Crayola.

Henry Cow? Crikey...as Lawrence says, you're now getting into the Rock In Opposition (RIO) movement...and once you're there, you realise that you're also dealing with the Zeuhl bands - RIO and Zeuhl are two large genres - many arists/bands within both - there are literally hundred's of Zeuhl bands and a quick look at the catalogue of Recommended Records...

and Cuneiform Records will demonstrate that you are at the tip of a http://www.discogs.com/label/Cuneiform+Records

major sonic exploration, MAJOR. Lots of awesome music.
