Pere Ubu

Unfortunately it can't anymore since the disc with that material on is no longer in the box set. This version was remastered about 3 years ago and reduces the contents by one disc from the original set that came out sometime in the mid 90s. I assume it had something to do with licensing .

Ah, that's a drag. I thought it was super cool and communal and inspired to have that Terminal Drive disc of the scene they 'came up' in. That comp you mentioned- These Were Different Times- should be a worthy fill-in, though. Different songs, but same bands.

The biggest left-turn from that whole Cleveland scene, and arguably even more so than Pere Ubu I think, was the Styrenes doing an EXCELLENT version of Terry Riley's In C. I guess Riley did encourage others to take it on, but I would never have expected it of the Styrenes, and they totally nailed it. My favourite version.
