TREATS – Sleigh Bells
I stumbled on this earlier in the year and got myself a copy based on an interesting review on a US site - good stuff but I sort of forgot about it and neglected it for the rest of the year - even forgot to put it in my best of list. I was in a wanky bar for an office xmas party recently and the dj played Infinity Guitars and Rill Rill - took me a while to recognise - that slightly overblown, vaguely distorted sound was perfect for a club, stood out more than a lot of the more usual stuff he was playing, in fact they sounded like they were threatening to blow his speakers. I'm expecting big things from them in the future. Hey, maybe they already are a "big thing", but i wouldnt know as sadly i'm not down with the kidz anymore (thank christ).
