NWOBHM

There were many excellent bands that came out from NWOBHM. Some only ever released one or two singles, such as Oxym, Dawnwatcher, Trespass and Dark Star.

One of my fondest memories of that time were the artwork that used to accompany the releases ... anyone recall the cover of the first Handsome Beasts LP with the pigs, or the Cloak and Dagger cover from Witchfynde ... I think I still have the picture disc somwhere!

Best songs ...

Lady of Mars (Dark Star)
Mind Key (Oxym) ... a blatant Rush impersonation in my view, but good none-the-less, and very well done!

The three Trespass EP's are very high quality music. I don't think they ever did release an LP at that time.

Adios for now.

Indeed, see also Aragorn's "Black Ice" single. Often quoted as the record that got Martin Ain/Tom Warrior from Celtic Frost into metal.

And for the record I thought Venom's first handful of records were utterly brilliant in every conceivable way. Were Witchfinder General NWOBHM? Everytime I see the cover for "Death Penalty" it brightens up my day.
