Yep - That's true and it's what we did. The tiny symbols of dolmens and menhirs are so tiny that it was then I realised I needed reading glasses! I think you can buy the maps on amazon. You can certainly buy them from newsagents and bookstores in the locals towns when you're there. In the Languedoc it's mostly small dolmens of various stages of trashedness. Certainly worth a punt, I'd say.
