Well, if we are going to start using it then it should be the classification for the tombs at Carrowmore in Sligo. Which brings me nicely to something I was about to add to my earlier post:

The tombs at Carrowmore in Sligo are the earliest known in Europe. The very earliest of these did not have a cairn. Julian hadn't visited Carrowmore until last year (although he did go to Ireland for TMA he wasn't really concentrating on it - I expect a lot will change now he's been all over Europe for the new book ... getting excited now!), so he couldn't really consider it when coming up with his 'later culture removing the cairn' idea.

but please pronounce the word 'prottle'. I may have found a mound that could (eight hundred million to one against) be covering a cromlech. The man that owns it can't read or write, yet he knows it's a barrow. I've not photographed it yet...
