Bison /Buffalo I think they are much the same .

The first time I saw them I didn't realise the estate had them ,I had simply jumped the fence as usual . They have elk too ,which are pretty impressive especially when you just are used to red deer , and not expwecting them .The gamekeepers are permanently armed ,for safety sake as much as stalking .

My brother was forced to make an enormous detour on Skye a few years back. An estate had placed a herd of aggressive wild boar/ pigs in a glen long used as an access route to some of The Cuillin.

The owner of the Alladale estate wants to introduce bears and wolves , which in effect would enclose it and stop any access . A wonderful area with no munros so not a honey pot for walkers .
