Not near Inverness, but you can always try your hand with the rockart right by Bernera Bridge (which you will be very familiar with by the end of your hols!) - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/8410/barraglom.html, or the excellent Rubha Charnain ones down in Harris - http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/8408/rubha_charnain.html

My excitement grows daily, just read the superb field notes for both these sites (great to read Fitz again) - a teeny bit daunting in parts. I am very happy with all the helpful responses and will sit down a bit nearer the time with a road atlas, friend M, and notebook. Thanks again to everyone.

I think you should also pick up one of these when you get up there: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Healing-Wells-Western-Isles/dp/0861522664

"The Healing Wells of the Western Isles" by Finlay Macleod.

You'd like it. :)
